Hello, as you probably guessed, my name’s Mikayla (Kay or Kayla for short) and I am the face behind the blog!

I started my bookstagram a couple of years ago, and the posts people seemed to enjoy the most were my reviews. I’ve always wanted to run a blog and share my literary insights, but I was always too shy and never believed anyone would like to read it. This may be true, but I figured it doesn’t really matter, so I’m here anyway.

Reading and writing are kind of my whole life (except for my beautiful fiance and our two kitties, of course!) I’m a full-time content writer, an aspiring author - check out my projects page for more on that - and I run my bookstagram!

Something I like to preface when it comes to what helps me stand out in this book-loving community is that I’m not a fast reader! It can be discouraging sometimes seeing people read three or four books a week when I’m just happy to read two in a month!

The thing is, though, you don’t have to be a fast reader to enjoy books. You can be a medium reader, a slow reader, a fast reader, a mood reader, or any type of reader. If books hold a special place in your heart, that’s enough and you’re in the right place.

While here, you’ll find weekly blogs; I will not be posting weekly reviews because I don’t read that fast. And that’s okay!

If you’re a slow reader, a fast one, just getting started, or maybe you’re a writer like me, this is going to be a safe and fun space for all souls who wish to embark on this blogging journey with me.

So… it’s time to get reading!
